| | My name is Rina Laxa and I am 24 year old girl entrepreneur and photographer student. I grew up in the Southeast Asia of the Philippines. I got my first camera when I was 19-- Sony Cybershot. I haven't put a camera down since and now shoot with a Canon 400D (but desperately want the 5D!) I did not go to school for photography and not sure if I ever will. I do know I have a lot to learn and am anxious to progress.
Since I'd been to travel around the Asian tours. It was the most amazing experience I've had thus far. I think the world is a fascinating, beautiful place and hope to be able to experience all of it. After returning from trip, I decided to study to pursue my dreams of becoming and entrepreneur and photographer. Right now I do the photography and freelance work. It's a challenging place to live but has so much to offer and I am slowly but surely making it my home.
I've always loved art. Creating give me that excited butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling. I'm also in love with travel and see the new places. There's something so endearing about objects with history and character. There's a sense of sweetness and whimsy in previous generations that I feel we've lost today. When I got my first camera, it didn't take long for me to discover that this was the ultimate creative outlet for me. With my camera, I ventured to capture this whimsy-- the darling life that I long for. I am so happy that I can share these images with you and only hope that they can make just a single butterfly stir in your stomach.
I support my adventures through my photography. In the past couple of years I've dedicated a lot of my time to gaining exposure, using deviantart and flickr as a main tool. I survive on doing photo shoots, providing photos for websites and albums and doing freelance work for school projects. I've met so many beautiful people on deviantart and flickr who have supported and inspired me and I can't explain how encouraging it's been.
